Sustainability at Mantra Club Croc

Here at Mantra Club Croc, we are committed to embedding sustainability into every facet of our daily operations. We recognise that sustainability is an ongoing journey and are continually striving to reduce our carbon footprint wherever possible. Below are some of the initiatives we have implemented to date.

Dry Amenities

We are delighted to share our ongoing commitment to reducing single-use plastics in our guest rooms. As part of this initiative, we have made a significant decision to eliminate single-use dry amenities, such as toothbrushes, combs, and shower caps from our guest rooms. Instead, guests can request biodegradable dry amenities by calling room service or visiting our friendly team at reception.

Large Amenities

As part of our ongoing efforts, we have made the proactive decision to move to large format amenities, replacing our single-use plastic common amenities with eco-friendly pump dispensers throughout the hotel. By eliminating single-use plastic bottles, we are significantly reducing the amount of waste generated by our operations. This commitment aligns with our dedication to environmental stewardship and reflects our ongoing efforts to improve sustainability in all aspects of our hotel.

Food Waste

At Mantra Club Croc, we are committed to reducing food wastage and promoting sustainable practices across our food and beverage outlets and conferencing department. We understand the importance of minimising our environmental impact while delivering exceptional culinary experiences to our guests.

  • Portion Control: We carefully plan and control portion sizes to minimise food waste while still providing satisfying meals to our guests.
  • Leftover Repurposing: Leftovers from events and daily operations are creatively repurposed into new dishes, maximising the use of our ingredients.
  • Reusable Containers: We use reusable containers for food storage and transportation, cutting down on single-use plastics.
  • Waste Reduction Training: Our staff undergo regular training on best practices for reducing food waste, ensuring everyone is committed to our sustainability goals.

Recycling

At Mantra Club Croc, all hotel waste is separated into co-mingle, cardboard, food waste and general waste, minimising our impact on landfill.  In addition, we have taken a number of steps to further reduce water and embrace a circular system.

  • Collect recyclables for collection by Containers for Change
  • Used Oil is collected by Cookers who refine it and repurpose it for use in other industries
  • Reduced the use of plastic bottles by installing self-fill water stations around the property

Community Support

We are committed to maintaining strong connections with our local community and give back wherever possible.

  • Donate furniture and unused items to local community groups
  • Provide employment for people living with a disability
  • Sponsorship of local community events including the Airlie Beach Marathon Festival and the Airlie Beach Festival of Music

Acknowledgement of Country

We acknowledge the traditional owners of this land, the Ngaro people, and pay our respects to their Elders past, present and emerging. We extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Accessibility

At Mantra Club Croc, we strive to accommodate the diverse needs of all our guests, and while we don't currently have any dedicated accessible rooms, we have a number of ground floor apartments with walk-in showers for those with mobility challenges. In addition, we have dedicated accessible parking spaces and accessible routes for navigating to and from reception, guest rooms and public areas and are welcoming of service animals. Should you require any further assistance, our friendly team are happy to discuss your specific needs to ensure your stay with us is comfortable and memorable.
